Initial ideas

My mom works at an art studio so she has always kept me up to date with their new projects and exhibitions for which I naturally grew an interest in, so when our media teacher mrs garrison first discussed our coursework for yr 13, I already had ideas set out to make a documentary about Daniel Canogars Studio. A few years ago, they invited me to their exhibition in Ginebra which was my first peek into the world of contemporary art and the industry behind it.  I found their pieces to be so innovative and different especially since they use technology and programming to create art and the production , concepts and creative process behind these which serve as an inspiration for this coursework. I remember my mom talking about one of their pieces that was programmed into an algorithm that recorded the pollution levels in a city to which with special programmes and such were able to then reflect the data to create these images that i found so incredibly interesting so when presented with the opportunity to create a documentary, I want to create something that captures their creative process behind some of their pieces and how these can reflect our lives and even ourselves.http://www.danielcanogar.com/es/obra/surge

I also did IGCSE art and my mom has brought me to see many exhibitions and galleries growing up so she continued inviting me to some of theirs, the last one being ARCO in Madrid so the photos above are ones I took during these event (Art Madrid is a contemporary art fair organised by the company Arte y Asociados in Madrid since the year 2006 and that agrees in the time with ARCO (the International Fair of Contemporary Art). In terms of number of galleries, it is the second largest contemporary art fair in Spain.) So I found fitting to create  a documentary that caters to my interests as well as people like my mother in this industry and explore this further with the studio.
