Theme of contemporary art  (researching topic and theme)

Contemporary art is modern art (20th - 21st century). Contemporary artists work in a globally influenced, culturally diverse and technologically advancing world, daniel canogars studio being a perfect representation of this. I find contemporary art to be the most relevant today, especially since the rise of new technologies and  technological determinism which affects today's society. Therefore, I find it interesting how these artists can create a bridge between art and technology to reflect our lives and ourselves as members of society . (Contemporary art is the art of today, produced by artists who are living in our time. It provides opportunities to reflect on society and the issues that are important to us and the world. It is part of a cultural dialogue that concerns larger contextual frameworks such as identity, family, community, and nationality.’)

The article provided some useful inspiration for my initial ideas : https://www.seniorcare2share.com/how-does-contemporary-art-reflect-the-modern-world/

Which talks about how ‘art influences society by changing opinions, instilling values and translating experiences across space and time. How art is often a vehicle for social change. The post also talks about the impact of contemporary art in our society, arguing that ‘audiences play an active role in the process of constructing meanings about works of art.’ therefore i want my documentary to not be lead by a ‘voice of god narration’ and leave room for audiences to have their own opinion and interpretation about the creative process behind their pieces through possibly an observational mode style documentary ‘fly on the wall’ method (Pennebakers 'don't look back documentary’ is observatory and aims to not lead the audience to a specific opinion or idea therefore I want to take inspiration of this approach in my documentary

I also decided to read a research paper on contemporary art https://www.researchgate.net/publication/287480136_The_psychology_of_contemporary_art to perhaps reflectsome of these ideas in the documentary maybe in a black screen with quotes to anchor meaning and purpose behind the creation of this documentary followed by montages and clips of the studio to support these ideas

‘introduce experiments that extend beyond concern with aesthetic factors to consider other perceptual and cognitive processes, and new methods such as eye tracking that provide insight into the real-time experience of viewing a work of art. ‘ I think aligns well with Daniels aims and vision for his pieces http://www.danielcanogar.com/

‘To generate truly paradigm-shifting 'creative' designs, this exploration relies on "the introduction of new variables into the design process, variables which were not originally considered by the designer or design system" (Gero, 1990). Such new variables can be found in many ways: reinterpreting the existing design by mutating its features, reframing it by considering analogies several levels of abstraction away from the original context, recombining ideas in surprising new ways to create a new requirement, or from first principles (Gero & Maher, 1993;Minissale, 2013;Schön, 1983). …’  reflects daniels mixed media and use of programming and technology to create his artworks https://contemporary-art.mirabaud.com/en/artists/detail/daniel-canogar

Genre art in film - the genre art is a pictorial representation in any of various media of scenes or events from everyday life.’,Te normal meaning of genre, covering any particular combination of an artistic medium and a type of subject matter (which I think daniel effectively represents by using technology and data to reflect, discuss, comment on aspects of our everyday life)
